Peace Sunday

Peace Sunday is an annual opportunity to preach, teach, reflect and act upon the gospel of peace proclaimed and embodied by Jesus Christ. At a time of year when our nation honours military service, Peace Sunday reminds us of Jesus' call to love our enemies, to resist evil nonviolently, and to live as people of peace.MCC Canada encourages Canadian Anabaptist congregations to observe Peace Sunday in early November, just prior to Remembrance Day.

The Peace Sunday Packet is intended to help your congregation plan a Peace Sunday worship service, and to engage in reflection and witness beyond the worship service.

This year we encourage you to plan a public prayer walk as a way of sharing the message of peace with the broader community. The following resource will help you plan such a prayer walk. It has been prepared by MCC Ontario.
